Beasty Barges: Ford Scorpio

This is one we’ve been looking forward to. For years it was a symbol of junior executive power, who didn’t love a Ford Scorpio?

We certainly did and as beasty barges from the 90’s goes this one is special. As the old saying goes they just don’t make them like they did.

These cars are all about choice something that seems to be missing from the modern market. We see endless different badges all offering SUV body styling with interiors adorned with big touchscreens but really nothing special without spending big bucks.

The Scorpio and its main rival the Vauxhall Omega gave customers a choice and a definitive flagship model. It was about knowing you has the best of the best from the manufacturer without having to forensically examine the vehicle to determine its make and model.

These cars might be a thing of the past but they’re also rare. At the time of writing there is one available in the UK on Autotrader and one limousine version on Ebay. Maybe just maybe this could be a worthwhile investment…
