Identity Crisis - The cars with multiple identities

Why do all cars look the same?

Ever been driving along and feel like all cars looks the same these days. Its nothing new for decades car manufacturers have been using and reusing the same models rebadging and rebranding.

The Isuzu Trooper pictured is a rare sight these days but it doppelganger the Vauxhall Monterey is arguably even rarer. Still these cars were practically identical apart from the branding.

More recent examples include the Vauxhall Antra and the Chevrolet Captiva, both no longer in production or the Skoda Citigo, Seat Mii and the VW Up.

Whilst the cars do share a common ancestry we have noted instances where the minor differences can create headaches for potential repairers. Parts ordered that are assumed will fit based on the fact they are correct for their counterparts arrive only to be found to be incorrect or slightly different.
